Biography

Samantha was born on December 12th in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. She studied at the Convent Holy Infant Jesus in Seremban and did her 'A' Levels after leaving school.

She is the author of two cross stitch books in Bahasa Malaysia, published by Karangkraf.

On the 30rd November 2008, She started working on - Mystery of the Wishing Box. It was a story of friendship between a young boy named Irwan and a dragon called Speare Morgan.

The story was meant to be a gift for her brother, Paul, the inspiration behind the idea as he was born in 1964 - the year of the dragon. It took five months to complete the first draft. Sadly her brother passed away on the 27th of June 2009, at the age of 44.

For a few months, the manuscript lay forgotten.

Eventually, she picked it up again and it was at this point that she decided to create a series - Mystery and adventure stories surrounding local historical landmarks.

Over the next 8 years she would go on to write the 2nd manuscript - Mystery of the abandoned castle, (based on Kellie's Castle) followed by the 3rd manuscript - The Mysterious Penglipur Lara, inspired by the Cheong Fatt Tze mansion and the Ulek Mayang.

Between 2015 - 2017, she did extensive rewrites on the first manuscript and it was at this stage that the final draft became - Mystery of the Sun Sapphire, 9 long years after she had first started on this project.

On the 11th of March 2019 Samantha Manon passed away suddenly at the age of 50. The legacy of finishing her trilogy now fell to her elder sister Sheila. On the 12th May 2020 The Mysterious Penglipur Lara was published successfully and is now available for sale thus accomplishing Samantha`s last wishes. May she now rest in Peace knowing her hard work and determination has paid off.
